21R5 R & D Marine Damper Drive Plate
Fitted between the engine and the gearbox input shaft, a damper drive plate is designed to transmit the engine power to the gearbox, whilst reducing transmitted gear noise and providing a cushioned drive when selecting gear. All R and D Damper Drive plates include a ‘failsafe’ design.
Also called the Driven Plate, Damper Plate or Clutch Plate, the 21R5 Damper Drive Plate is from the R and D hammer head element range. Common applications for the 21R5 drive plate includes engines fitted with the PRM 601 or PRM 1000 gearboxes, SAE 11_.
R&D drive plate technical details:
– Spline: 18 teeth 12/24 DP spline (40.5mm diameter) for PRM 601 and PRM 1000 gearboxes
– Diameter of back plate which bolts to the engine flywheel: 352.5mm (13.875″) SAE 11.5
– Back plate fixing holes: 8 x 10.6mm on 333.4mm SAE11-1/2
– Drive plate maximum thickness: 38.1mm (1.50″)
Fitted with the multi-directional ‘L’ Hammer Head element for 745 Nm 550 ft lb torque, providing a smaller element diameter which is more torsionally flexible than the loop type elements and provides three stage stiffness with up to 9 degrees of deflection. These damper drive plates are also fail safe.
