Description
The Bowman GH300-3482-3 marine three pass header tank heat exchanger is typically suitable for 320kW / 429HP engines. This Bowman heat exchanger can be used with Mercedes OM402, OM422 and OM407A engines among others.
There is a raw water input connection for 1-1/2″ BSP one end and a raw water output connection for 1-1/2″ BSP on the other end. The heat exchanger is supplied with two 70mm aluminium hose connectors for the engine water inlet and outlet, as well as the required fixings (2 x nitrile O-ring seals and 8 x M12 socket screws).
Please note: the heat exchanger is no longer supplied with counter flanges, stud bolts and gaskets for the fresh water circuit. Previously you would have needed to fabricate a suitable connection for the fresh water coolant input and outputs of the heat exchanger, however Bowman now supply aluminium hose adaptors. If you wish to have counter flange plates instead of hose adaptors, these are available to special order at additional cost, please contact us before placing your order if this the case.
Bowman recommend NOT fitting zinc anodes because the tubes used in the construction of the heat exchangers are copper-nickel alloy, and as such they do not require a zinc anode. It is possible that if a zinc anode is fitted it can actually destroy the copper-oxide film built up by the tube as a natural defence, which can allow the tube material to be attacked.
