Description

This clamp on split half coupling is machined from solid steel and mates with the gearbox output coupling to connect a 60mm diameter metric boat propeller shaft to the gearbox, usually via a flexible coupling.

The clamp on split type boat propeller shaft coupling is machined to suit the boat’s propeller shaft diameter but can accommodate the variations that can occur with normal boat propeller shaft tolerances. It is simple to install and can be adjusted to the required position on the shaft. This clamp on shaft coupling is bored with a keyway and is secured to the boat prop shaft with the clamp bolts supplied.

Typical applications include:
7″ nominal gearbox flanges (7.25″) for PRM601 and PRM1000 4:1 marine gearboxes.
Recommended torque for the clamp bolts: 210Nm (155 lbsft)

Coupling dimensions:
For propeller shaft diameter 60mm
Keyway to BS4235: Part 1 Rectangular
a – Flange outside diameter = 189.2mm (7.45″)
b – Hole pitch circle = 152.4mm (6.00″)
c – Number of holes = 6
d – Hole size = 16mm (0.63″ / 5/8″)
e – Register diameter = 95.25mm (3.75″) male
f – Coupling length = 190.5mm (7.50″)
g – Coupling clamp boss diameter = 168.4 (6.63″)
