The Scout 5G onBoard Plus system is an integrated system designed to deliver high-speed internet connectivity to boats, optimised for marine environments.
The system leverages the power of 5G technology to provide lightning-fast internet speeds. This system is capable of supporting up to 150 simultaneous users, making it suitable for larger groups on boats.
Building on the success of the Scout 4G system, the 5G onBoard Plus is designed specifically for marine environments. It offers exceptional navigation performance for both download and upload speeds.
The system features a 25cm diameter dome constructed from ASA material, which is known for its resistance to atmospheric conditions and sunlight. This ensures durability and longevity even in challenging marine conditions.
The 5G onBoard Plus includes a latest-generation router with a dual SIM card system. It’s capable of reaching speeds of up to 3.3 Gbps. Configuration and control of the router are conveniently operated remotely using a dedicated app.
The system offers a dedicated high-speed wireless network (Dual-band Wi-Fi 5) and an ultra-fast wired network through the router’s Ethernet ports. This provides users with versatile options for connecting their devices including chartplotters, radios, smart TVs, IP cameras, and more. The high-speed 5G connection ensures smooth HD streaming and reliable performance for various online activities.
Four powerful 5G antennas within the dome allows the 5G onBoard Plus to maintain connectivity even up to 20 miles off the coast. In the absence of a 5G signal, the system can fall back to 4G and 3G technologies to ensure uninterrupted access.
The low-loss cable connection between the external dome and the router ensures optimal router performance, facilitating rapid downloads and uploads for seamless internet access.
Configuration and control of the router are made easy through a user-friendly app compatible with both iOS and Android devices. This allows users to manage their internet connection conveniently.
The RMS (Remote Management System) feature enables remote access without relying on a public IP address. This system allows for easy tracking of status changes such as device temperature, mobile signal quality, and data usage.
